Museum of Peasant Civilization in Vibrata Valley- Controguerra (Te)
The Museum of Rural Civilization in Val Vibrata, located in the hamlet of San Giuseppe, a worker of Controguerra, in a typical rural structure, was founded in 1982 by an association of enthusiasts and scholars of popular culture and traditions and with the first collaboration of the Cultural Service Center of Nereto (TE). The purpose of the Museum is to take care of the historical, environmental and cultural memory of our territory, with the recovery of objects and agricultural tools, as well as supporting crafts (tailor, carpenter, cobbler ...). The Museum is particularly suitable for young people and schools for its didactic approach and because it is a documentation centre for studies and research in the sectors already set up. In addition to objects, it has photographs with captions, documents such as farm books, agricultural contracts, marriage contracts, private agreements, and, in particular, a videotape and a book on hemp, the result of extensive research by the Association of the Museum.
